Sculpted Paintings

Lorraine, better known as Raine, is a long-time resident of Fernie, B.C. She is a self-taught artist with a passion for painting and sewing into which she incorporates colour, texture, nature, and the human spirit. Her paintings combine the two mediums of relief sculpture and acrylic painting that she has named Sculpting Raine. Each painting begins by building up layers of plaster on gypsum board. Once dried, she applies layers of paint for detail and colour. Lorriane spends summers in Fernie and her winters in Mazatlan, Mexico.
