Pat, a charter member of the Co-op, was born in Chilliwack, BC, and later grew up on a farm in the prairies. She successfully completed her Nurse’s training in Moose Jaw, SK and has dedicated over 50 years to her profession. She and her family have lived in Fernie for over 48 years.
Pat started with the folk art style of Tole painting, later expanding into other mediums such as watercolour batiks and mixed media collage. She creates art that is both functional as well as pleasing to the eye. She also enjoys painting on a variety of mediums, including stone, glass, canvas and wood. Pat has a love of the outdoors, skiing, biking, golfing and hiking, which is where she gets inspiration for painting her ornaments (mountains – 3 sisters, ski hill and downtown Fernie)
Her latest creations on canvas are of her girl power series inspired by her 12 year old granddaughter who was a finalist for Junior Dragons Den, is very active and talks mostly about ‘girl power’.
